Dedication
| With Every
Breath: A Lung Cancer Guidebook
and this site are dedicated to all the
courageous men and women who face the challenges of lung cancer — past, present
and future.
This book is also lovingly dedicated to all
those who have died of lung cancer — our mothers, fathers, husbands, wives,
aunts, uncles, cousins, grandmothers, grandfathers, friends, and neighbors.
Their presence and spirit remain in the hearts of their loved ones, and of all
people who work as lung cancer patient advocates.

I wish to personally dedicate my work on
With Every Breath: A
Lung Cancer Guidebook
to my late husband, Andrew L. St. John,
PhD. Andy taught me so much about what it means to be fully alive, and what it
means to truly and unselfishly love another person. He was a man of grace,
courage, and kindness — and an outrageously silly, insatiable sense of humor.
This book is my small way of
honoring Andy’s life, of saying thank you for all the tangible and intangible
gifts he gave me, and of sharing some of them with you.
